Handmade, probably late 19th century, is 36″ wide, 46″ high and 19″ deep. It has 4 drawers with hand chamfered bottoms and cockbeading, all with original hardware. The top gallery unit just behind the half dropfront is built separately from the case. It has tambour doors on each side of the prospect door which hide small mahogany drawers and pigeonholes. The desk surface has a replaced green felt and rests on lopers in the case. The piece is banded with vertical grained mahogany and the front is veneered with crotch and burl mahogany. Overall good condition, tambour doors and drawer s slide easily and solidly. There are minor chips of banding and some finish scratches and dings. The front splay feet are chipped off around the front side. The back boards appear to have been replaced as they have a finish.
